Puerto Vallarta Grand Walking Adventure

Gringo Gulch in Puerto Vallarta
Cruise Ship Puerto Vallarta guided tours
This walk is our longest (and for that reason our most difficult.) We will begin by walking eastward along the Puerto Vallarta foothills taking advantage of the views offered from these elevated neighborhoods.  We will likely go as far as the Playa Grande (on the river not the beach) or Lomas de Coapinole.  We'll make our way back on the flats through the old town of Pitillal and end up where we began the adventure.  Some of the neighborhoods we are likely to pass through are 5 December, Agua Azul, Ramblases, Independecia, Coapinole, Pitillal, Lomas de Calvario, Primavera, Gaviotas, Versalles, Fluvial, and others.

Small tiendas will be nearly everywhere so water and snacks should not be an issue.  Plenty of shopping also.  We may even pass through the large shopping mall in this area.  Timed restrooms stops will be carefully planned - however a Bano can be found nearly anywhere for 10-20 peso payment.  Most restaurants and sanatarios will charge 10 or less.

Culturally the adventure is fascinating to see "Real Mexico" and we will talk a lot about how the locals live, their typical wages, and cost of things.  The vast majority of these people have likely never left the state of Jalisco.  Perhaps if they did they went to see the capital Mexico City.  For them, just the trip to the beach is an important outing with plenty of pre planning of which beach to go to and how much food and drink can they carry on the bus to make it special.

Every time we walk this adventure the path will be different.  This will allow "snow birds" to take this trip every week and experience different streets, neighborhoods, parks, restaurants as they spend the day adventuring in these Mexican neighborhoods.
