This is a full day guided tour to the small historic mining town of San Sebastain in the Sierra Madre Mountains high above Puerto Vallarta.  (town elevation almost 5,000 feet - bufa (mountain top lookout) is over 8,000 feet)

We will drive in an airconditioned Surburban (or other) with driver and guide.  It will take about an hour and half drive into the mountains.  We will stop along the way at a lovely pastry shop to enjoy their freshly baked goods and hot chocolate or coffee in their rock walled garden.

In San Sebastain we will take an hour for a guided tour of the historic town plaza area including the square, church, and museum and walk many of the picturesque cobbled stone streets.

Then we will drive through the upper town and take a dirt track up the mountain for an amazing view of Jalisco from the mountain's bufa (lookout.) from here we will be able to see (on clearer days) the Banderas Bay, Puerto Vallarta, neighboring state of Nayarit, hills surrounding Guadalajara​, Ixtlan del Rio, and Colima Volcano. ​​

Upon returning to the quant town of San Sebastain we will have an hour to an hour and a half of free time to further explore the village on your own for lunch, shopping, tequila  and raicilla tasting, or just sitting in the square or other area and enjoying the atmosphere of this nationally designated "Pueblo Magico."

We plan to return to Puerto Vallarta around 5 pm.

ESSENTIALS

• Meet at 8 am near the Sheraton Hotel and Stadium Complex (exact location & instructions will be inside your reservation confirmation)

• Dress in layers. Puerto Vallarta will be nice to warm.  In San Sebastain is will be cool to cold.  May be windy.  Come prepared for any condition.  ​

• Walking Difficulty: Moderate (The town is easy - although the roads are all cobblestones.  The Bufa is about 10 minutes of walking on a moderate difficult all dirt and rock trail to the edge of the Bufa)

• Price is $149.50 USD plus tax.  

• Price does not include customary tip for the walk leader.
